EFCC Confirms Mompha In Custody
Dubai Big Boy Mompha was confirmed to be in EFCC custody after news of his arrest became viral yesterday.
In a Premium Times report, the self-proclaimed exchange office was arrested in connection with the alleged transplant.
Wilson Uwujaren, an EFCC spokesman, confirmed that Mr Mustapha had been taken into custody by anti-transplantation forces, but in the meantime refused to provide further details.
The arrest was reportedly a joint Interpol-EFCC operation. But Umar Garba, Nigeria’s head of Interpol, said that although he learned of the arrest, all inquiries should be handled by the EFCC as the primary law enforcement agency responsible for the investigation.
The news of the arrest of Mr Mustapha, known by his business name “Mompha”, quickly spread as a rumor in Nigerian social media on Monday evening.
Mr Mustapha has clipped the personality of one of Nigeria’s richest socialists in the social media and published Instagram images of his family’s wealth.
In some of his latest posts on his verified Instagram page, which has nearly 650,000 followers, Mr. Mustapha showed a yellow Ferrari and a 2020 Rolls Royce Wraith Eagle VIII, of which he claimed he had bought them for 180 million N. In addition, he also published images of his family’s wealth with Instagram.
He said he was the first African to own the Rolls Royce, and it was only one of 50 exotic vehicles he owned around the world. Prominent bloggers claimed that the Ferrari was bought earlier this year for N 155 million.
